Bert Hiemstra is the new independent chair of the Validation and Innovation Point Asbestos (VIP).

Businesses (particularly small businesses) often need to spend considerable time and money on developing an asbestos removal method and having it validated by the VIP. In response, the VIP has made it easier to do this together with other parties. It has also prepared an animation to explain the validation process.

The VIP has advised about the RIONED method for the removal of drainage elements with asbestos-containing joint filler be classified as risk class 1 and added to the SMA-rt web application (SMA-rt). The Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment has asked Ascert (the SMA-rt manager) to add this change to SMA-rt.
